Wedding Photographer Meeting

Today I enjoyed a long lunch with a group of wedding photographers. We act as emergency backup for each other as well a general talking shop to exchange ideas. The group is very useful but luckily so far nobody has need the emergency cover.

Today we discussed various topics such as the state of the market, album design and suppliers, advertising methods etc.

One of the members offers a great Digital Imaging Service whereby photographers can get their post-processing and album designs done for them. The rates are very competitive and the quality of the work is excellent.

Another useful service gives photographers a CD and DVD printing service, providing them with pre-printed disks that they can use as and when they need them. Also available are CD and DVD supplies and packaging.

Both services are design to help photographers save time and focus more on the photography side of their business whilst still giving their clients first class products.

Model Competition

Just a quick reminder that I am running a national model competition on the Imagination Models website.

The competition is free to enter, is for girls aged 15 to 25 living in the UK. For an entry form please visit the site where a downloadable version is available.

There is no need to have professional photographs taken to enter, just provide a couple of shots including a head-shot and full-length.

As well as being a free model directory the site provides a free directory service for photographers and make-up artists.

As part of my stock photography work I'm looking for people that are willing to sign a model release and in return have their portraits done for free.

Shortly I will start uploading images there and see how it goes.

Sunny Wedding on Saturday the 21st

Hi there,

Another sunny Saturday and another great wedding. Marc and Sarah's wedding was a lot of fun and it was great for the guests to be outside in the sunshine. The wedding was held at the White Horse Inn in Hertingfordbury, Hertfordshire.

The staff were friendly and helpful. They're doing a promotion for weddings and agreed to put some of my business cards in the display area. So hopefully I'll get some work there again soon.

Whilst covering Sarah's preparations we were all a bit hot in the room as nobody could work out how to operate the air conditioning unit. I hate to be defeated by things like that so I decided to try and get it working (in between taking photographs) after opening up the remote to find more hidden buttons I found how to do it. I think Sarah was very grateful and will probably remember me more for that than the photos! Couldn't resist taking a couple of photos of Sarah enjoying the cool air :p

Lastest Weddings

A while since my last post, things have been a bit hectic here. As well as the recent Wedding Show at Olympia I popped up to the Focus on Imaging show in Birmingham. Lots of nice toys there for photographers, didn't intend to by anything but ended up getting some software for applying effects.
