Beautiful Wedding

I recently completed the album design for Alison and Robert's beautiful wedding. It was a fantastic day with lots of great photo opportunities.

The album design is one of the largest I have made so far with 34 double page spreads in its full form. I hope the couple will be delighted with the results.

If you would like to view this album or others I have designed please visit the album page on my site:

Imagination Models

Just a reminder that I have a website for models, make-up artists and photographers. The site offers a free directory service as well as offering advice and competitions.

Imagination Models

If you know anyone that might like to join please pass on the address. There is also a facebook group they can join, great for exchanging information and hopefully finding work for each other.

Image processing for professional photographers

If you're a photographer you may be interested in this service:

True Imaging - Professional Digital Imaging Services

I know the guy that runs this business and the service is great for photographers that want to spend less time sitting in front of their computers processing images or designing albums.

Wedding with a limp

On Friday I went to play tennis and pulled a muscle, I had arrived a little bit late and hadn't had a chance to warm up properly. Then someone played a nasty drop-shot over the net, as I pushed off to go at full speed to get the ball my leg gave way and I could have sworn I heard a popping sound.

It was agony and my first thoughts were of how I was going to be able to cover the wedding that I was booked for on Saturday. I would have felt terrible if I couldn't meet my commitment to the couple.

I wasn't able to walk so I called some of my photographer friends to see if they were available. Seven of us are on an emergency list for just this sort of situation. Thomas Baker, one of the members, was willing to be on standby and luckily he is based in Hitchin, where the wedding was taking place. It was a great relief to have him around just in case.

On Saturday morning my leg was still bad. My girlfriend came along to help me, even though she had just worked a night shift. She's amazing really. Oh and she took a great photograph of the couple too!

Somehow though I was able to cover the wedding without needing to use Thomas. He had lots of work to do in his office so I let him go back to that. I could walk just if I was careful and although I couldn't move around as much as usual I don't think it made much difference to the results.

It was a fantastic wedding too, the couple were really nice to work with. They didn't panic when I told them about my leg the night before. The weather and the venues were great too.

I'll be more careful playing sports the day before a wedding in future though!

A walk in the woods

Strangely enough I don't take many shots when I'm "off-duty", but on a recent walk in Whippendell wood I took some photographs, including these:

Wedding Video

Today I shot some video at a wedding being covered by Andy Kimpton. Andy's a friend and fellow photographer.

I was filming with the aim of getting some clips I could use as part of my photography training books. The couple were getting married close to Watford so it was easy for me to pop over there.

It was strange to be filming instead of doing my normal stills photography. It's such a different process and is harder than it looks! One thing I noticed was how much better it is for covering the line up. I don't get many good shots of that part of the wedding with my camera, but on video it's much better. I also like the low light capability of the video camera. Shooting in the church was fairly easy in fact I had to turn down the exposure for a lot of the time as it was too bright.
