Digital Photography Book

Today I started writing a new book. The working title is "Digital Photography Training Manual". I might need to make that a bit snappier later.

Basically the book is being written as a guide for people new to digital photography or those with a little experience wanting to learn more. I'm starting to provide training courses in photography and photoshop and this book is being designed to fit in with the training.

Photographers 4 Charity

Hi, just a quick note to let you know that I am supporting the Photographers 4 Charity project in aid of Cancer Research UK. The idea is that a deserving couple get a wedding photographer for free in return for raising money for the charity.

Here is some information about the project taken from the photographers4charity website.

"Photographers all over Britain have pledged to give a day in October, November and December 2009 for any deserving couples who are willing to raise money for Cancer Research UK. One couple from each county will be chosen by the liaison officer for that county and anyone else he/she can persuade to help him choose. Each Couple will be asked to raise as much money as they can via the liaison officer’s just giving page.

In return the photographer will work the whole day for free and the couple will receives as a minimum a DVD of photographs from the day."

If you know anyone that might be deserving of this opportunity please let me know and I will pass on their details to the relevant liaison officer.

Wedding in The Barns Hotel Bedford

It's 3.41am as I start this post. Often after a wedding I seem to have trouble sleeping. When I first started wedding photography I would get home and my mind would be buzzing thinking about the day. Event hough I would be really tired I couldn't sleep well. Now after 5 years of experience I'm not quite so "wired" mentally after the day but I can be really tired. Sometimes the more tired I am the harder it is to sleep well, strange that.

Anyway, the wedding went very well. A lovely day and a great setting for a wedding. The hotel and the Tithe Barn, where this particular wedding was held, are very picturesque and the weather was good all day. A bit cold, I think the hotel was trying to save some money on their heating bill!

As usual pictures from this wedding will go onto the wedding gallery page in a week or two.

Anyway, I'm off to bed again.
